This privacy policy describes how Channel Psychotherapy (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit channelpsych.com (the “Site”).

Information We Collect

When you submit a contact form on this Site, we collect the information you provide, including your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and the content of your message. We also collect standard web analytics data (pages visited, referring URLs, browser type) through privacy-respecting analytics tools.

Cookies

This Site uses essential cookies required for basic functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell your data to third parties.

How We Use Your Information

Information submitted through the contact form is used solely to respond to your inquiry and schedule consultations. We do not share your contact information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you provide. However, the contact form on this Site is not a secure or encrypted communication channel. Please do not include protected health information, clinical details, or other sensitive personal information in contact form submissions.

SMS/Voice Communications and Your Rights

Channel Psychotherapy uses RingCentral, a HIPAA-eligible cloud communications platform, to provide voice and text messaging services to and from the practice number 415.942.0922. Communications routed through RingCentral are subject to a written Business Associate Agreement with RingCentral. This section describes what to expect from those communications and how you can control them.

Communications you may receive. Voice calls, voicemails, and text messages from Channel Psychotherapy are limited to appointment reminders, scheduling coordination, billing communications, and clinical follow-up initiated by Jeffrey Farber, MSW, LCSW. The practice does not send marketing or promotional messages by text or voice.

Your consent.By providing your phone number to the practice — through the contact form, an intake document, or during a session — you consent to receive appointment-related and clinical communications at that number. You may withdraw that consent at any time.

Opt-out. To stop text messages from the practice, reply STOP to any message from the practice number, or contact the practice directly at info@channelpsych.com or 415.942.0922. To stop voice communications, contact the practice by the same means. Opting out of routine administrative reminders does not affect your care; however, if you opt out of appointment reminders you accept responsibility for tracking your own appointment schedule.

Message frequency. Message frequency varies based on your treatment schedule and administrative needs. The practice does not send bulk or recurring campaign messages.

Message and data rates. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. The practice does not receive any portion of your carrier charges.

Help. To request help, reply HELP to any text message from the practice, or contact the practice directly.

Security of text messages. SMS is not a fully secure or encrypted communications channel. The practice limits the content of text messages to the minimum necessary for scheduling and administrative coordination and does not send clinical information by text. If you prefer that all communications be by telephone or secure email only, please inform the practice and that preference will be honored. Text messages you send to the practice may be received by the clinician on a mobile device and are stored within the RingCentral platform subject to the terms of the Business Associate Agreement.

Recording of calls.Voice calls to and from the practice are not routinely recorded. Voicemails you leave are stored within the RingCentral platform. California Penal Code § 632 requires the consent of all parties to record a confidential communication; the practice does not record calls without your knowledge and consent.

Third-party privacy practices.RingCentral is a business associate of the practice under HIPAA. RingCentral’s own privacy practices apply to information the platform collects independently of your treatment relationship with the practice. HIPAA Notice

This website privacy policy is separate from the Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes how your protected health information may be used and disclosed in connection with clinical services. The Notice of Privacy Practices applies to individuals who become clients of Channel Psychotherapy.
